Diane Long (they/them), MHS, SEP, BCTMB, identifies as a disabled, genderqueer, pansexual, poly, sWitch. They have been practicing Sex-Positive Self-Defense and body-based therapies for more than 30 years to help people prevent, interrupt, and heal from violence and oppression. Modalities include Empowerment Self-Defense (ESD), Somatic Experiencing®, Trauma First Aide™, Healing Touch, Massage, SomaYoga and Somatic Sex Education. A Board-Certified Massage Therapist, Diane serves as Associate Clinical Faculty at Northwestern Health Sciences, teaching and supervising student interns. In 2021, they started a program of Integrative Health Services at SafeZone, a drop-in center for unhoused youth in Saint Paul, MN, where folks have received over 3500 sessions in things like massage, acupuncture and yoga to date. Since 2024, they have been a lead massage therapist on a research project at CVT (the Center for Victims of Torture), highlighting the benefits of massage and mindfulness for people who are survivors of torture and war trauma. Diane regularly offers sessions and consultations in Somatic Experiencing, Queer and Trans Cuddle Parties geared towards providers, and a variety of workshops related to sexuality.
